At Cory Douglas Scholastic Academy we use several tools to keep our students engaged with learning! The resources that we use are carefully handpicked to ensure that our students are receiving the best learning experience available.
Education.com is a source of educational resources. There are more than 25,000 educational games, worksheets, and coloring pages available. Our educators use education.com as a supplemental resource to keep students engaged in their lessons.
The Daily 5 is a literacy framework that guides both student and teacher behaviors to create a classroom of engaged and independent readers and writers. It’s not the “what” you teach but “how” that the Daily 5 aims to solve by creating a structure in which students participate in meaningful activities, while educators work uninterrupted with small groups and individuals.
Just like Daily 5, the structure of Math Daily 3 provides students with the support and practice they need to develop independence, accountability, and proficiency toward personalized goals.
Guided Readers is the most effective online guided reading program to help build and strengthen students' literacy skills in phonics, vocabulary.
BrainPOP is an essential engagement tool that allows both students and teachers to be involved in the learning process. BrainPOP has really evolved by increasing the depth of knowledge needed to answer quiz questions and playful assessments that allow students to explain their reasoning while playing a game.
Generation Genius presents some of the most exciting, professionally-produced, video-based science lessons you can find. These were created in partnership with the National Science Teachers Association and align with Next Generation Science Standards.
